About

The Jerome Orcutt Boys Club & Girls Club of Bridgeport, Connecticut was founded in 1930, and is one of the oldest clubs in the United States. We seek to provide a safe haven and serve as a reliable resource to children and youth living in poverty in Bridgeport, CT.  Orcutt Club strives to be a positive presence in each child’s life and throughout their childhood, and create an experience where each child feels welcomed and empowered.  We believe children in Bridgeport need and deserve the opportunity to be exposed to positive influences, a sense of community, and guidance that can change their life trajectories.  Our commitment to each child is to ensure they have supervised programming in a setting that encourages relationship-building, respect, and consistent reinforcement of healthy and productive habits and lifestyles.

At the Jerome Orcutt Club, we are driven to provide safe recreational, learning, and personal enrichment experiences. Our members have a vast array of programs surrounding athletic and educational resources. These also include organized programs for leadership, utilization of our swimming pool, tutoring, career development, arts & crafts and volunteer opportunities. Our facility is designed to effectively serve each program while maintaining a motivating environment.

We exist solely for our members to escape the circumstances they face beyond our walls while surrounding them with experiences and influences that will lead them down a better path. We have seen the impact we leave on each child and funding is necessary for successful continuous of our programs. Our programs incur substantial costs, even at very low membership fee. We never turn any child away because they lack the ability to provide full membership fee. The importance of membership for our students is invaluable and at the Jerome Orcutt Club, we emphasize the morals and values necessary for successful adult lifestyles.
